Storytelling

The power of storytelling

Storytelling is as old as language. Stories inspire, instruct and entertain. Their use in strategic planning and in finding resolutions to problems or conflicts is increasing in the business world. The oldest form of Australian Storytelling is Aboriginal Storytelling. These stories contain facts and lessons about our nation that have been passed down from generation to generation, over tens of thousands of years. Many of these stories align with scientific understanding of historical events, including significant and catastrophic changes in the landscape, such as the rise of sea levels after the last ice age.Aboriginal people have survived many changes. Their stories often include themes that instruct respect and care for the land, and for one another. In a time of great change and uncertainty, we seek to acknowledge and learn from the wisdom and experience of the traditional custodians of the land that we call home.
